"Before going through the program, we had doubts about whether it would be worthwhile. It was! High Performance Team Training has been so necessary and so valuable. You've made believers out of us!"

Most organizations today need more empowered people. The trouble is that most organizations don't know how to go about empowering their employees. Training and development are needed, but simply giving the empowerment message to either the team members or the team leaders is not likely to work. The trick is to train both groups together. High-Performance Team Training delivers the concept of empowerment in a way that translates into action.

High-Performance Team Training participants will:

  • Understand a model of self-management and empowerment.
  • Assist in developing a mission, a vision, and short-term performance goals.
  • Clarify their new roles and relationships.
  • Accept responsibility for the team's work as well as their own individual tasks.
  • Refine team dynamics skills.
  • Assist the team to learn group problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Manage group performance.
  • Identify blockages to high performance.
  • Help their team leader develop his/her facilitation skills.

Glick Training Associates can facilitate this program for you or certify your "in house" trainers to deliver the program.  Please contact us for additional details. (800)987-2463 or marianne@glicktraining.com

Group Development Assessment

As your groups evolve into teams, it's vital that they periodically assess their current level of group development - and be willing to discuss it openly. The Group Development Assessment (GDA) gives groups a clear, comprehensive picture of how they're functioning - and of what it will take to become a team.

The GDA measures group development along two dimensions: task behaviors and process behaviors. Groups often get stuck in one dimension as they grow in the other. Truly synergistic teams, however, engage in high levels of task and process behaviors simultaneously. When GDA scores are plotted on a matrix, teams see how close they are to that goal. The intersection of sub-scores also reveals the group's current stage of team development.

Using the Group Development Assessment

There are five suggested uses of the GDA. These applications are by no means intended as an exhaustive inventory of possible uses, and one or more of them may be used in various combinations depending on the needs of the facilitator or the group. Use the GDA:

  • As a diagnostic intervention by a consultant
  • To perform diagnosis by the group leaders
  • As a team building intervention
  • With underdeveloped groups
  • As a training model

Get More Info Here! How can you encourage each member of your team to feel accountable for the team's work? TeamAccountability clarifies this often-elusive concept and drives home its importance to achieving team excellence.

As anyone who is involved with work teams can tell you, their potential is immense, but if it remains un-harnessed, it is just that -- potential. TeamAccountability is one tool that will help you to maximize the potential of your teams. It is designed to explore how individuals within the team view their own and the team's accountability. TeamAccountability also provides a forum for giving and receiving feedback so that teams can work together to develop plans for maintaining accountability in their teamwork.

Holding individuals accountable for their actions has long been a goal of organizations. The reasons are fairly straightforward. It is assumed that if individuals are required to answer for their actions, they will take great care in those actions. And, in fact, individual accountability in many cases does improve the quality of people's work.

In TeamAccountability, team members will examine their understanding of their own accountability. Then they will work with a partner to examine and discuss how each person views the other's accountability. Finally, a team discussion provides the team members with an opportunity to plan how they will work accountability into their team environment.

TeamCommunication Inventory

Improve the overall quality of your team discussions and meetings with the TeamCommunication Inventory (TeamComm), an instrument designed to identify the roles team members typically play during team interaction.

How it works

Using a specific discussion or meeting to evaluate, respondents rate themselves on the use of 7 Task Roles and 7 Maintenance Roles. Individuals then gain additional insight into their behavior. Finally, action plans help teams make specific plans for improvement - as individuals and as a group.

The Participant Booklet includes pressure-sensitive scoring and perforated response cards to facilitate the feedback process. In addition to administrative guidelines and theoretical background, the Facilitator Guide includes tips on strengthening task and maintenance roles, a sample training design, and transparency masters.

TeamCommunication Inventory is a great follow-up to any HRDQ Survival Simulation!
